About the Role
Folk On The Rocks is hiring a Volunteer Manager to oversee the recruitment, coordination, and management of the 450+ volunteers who make the festival possible. This is a key role ideal for someone who is highly organized, community-minded, and passionate about creating a positive and rewarding volunteer experience.
Key Responsibilities
Create a work plan with recruitment strategies, volunteer targets per team, and budget requirements;
Recruit, assign, and manage volunteers across all festival areas;
Manage communications using the official FOTR volunteer database and website;
Recruit, organize, and train Team Coordinators;
Support Team Coordinators with scheduling and ongoing needs;
Procure supplies for each volunteer area;
Organize and update volunteer team manuals, creating new materials as needed;
Ensure all volunteer training is completed prior to the festival;
Provide team captains and volunteers with the necessary festival information;
Oversee Volunteer Support operations;
Organize and supervise Volunteer Headquarters onsite;
Allocate volunteers as needed to support contracted staff;
Connect contracted staff with appropriate Team Coordinators;
Coordinate the volunteer appreciation event; and
Be on-site for the full duration of the festival.
Qualifications
Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills;
Ability to manage large groups of people in a fast-paced environment;
A patient, solution-oriented, and community-focused approach;
Experience with large-scale events or volunteer coordination is considered an asset; and
Connections to community groups or volunteer networks are an advantage.
