Tinge

Veronica Blackhawk is a 2-spirit Anishinaabe & Cree multidisciplinary artist from Northwest Angle #33, Ontario. They are the leader and principal songwriter of the band Tinge, an indie-rock trio based out of Winnipeg, Manitoba. Following the release of their debut EP, “Big Deep Sigh”, Tinge garnered attention from the GRAMMYs - naming the band one of "five Indigenous artists you need to know.” Tinge has performed at several major festivals and community events, sharing the stage with Tom Cochrane for Churchill Winterruption 24’, joining the Winnipeg Pride Festival 23’ main stage and more.

Blackhawk is an active advocate for diversity in art spaces. Recent achievements include being named recipient of the Inaugural Vince Fontaine Legacy Award through Manitoba Music (2023). Their goal to create space and share resources with upcoming artists in the 2SLGBTQ + BIPOC community is at the heart of their work with the Good and Plenty Producers Club. They are currently working to provide rural communities and reservations the opportunity to engage in music or art programs via workshops and a travelling mobile production studio.
