The Darcys
The Darcys are an LA-based alternative duo originally from Toronto, Canada. Composed of Jason Couse and Wes Marskell, the band is celebrated for its genre-bending sound, fusing rock, pop, and electronic elements. In a musical landscape that often rewards predictability, The Darcys stand out as innovators—pairing infectious melodies with bold, forward-thinking production. Each release pushes boundaries, creating a sonic world as unpredictable as it is captivating.
Their catalog includes critically acclaimed releases such as the JUNO and Polaris Prize nominated Warring (2014), the crossover breakthrough Centerfold (2016), the cinematic Fear & Loneliness (2020), and a full-length reimagining of Steely Dan’s Aja (2012).
In 2018, the duo launched their own label, The Darcys Inc. Records—a DIY venture that has since dominated airwaves across North America. Singles including “Running For The Hills” (Top 5 at Rock Radio), “1986,” “Washed Away,” and “Trouble Found Me” became alt-radio staples, helping the label rank as the 8th most-played on Canadian alternative rock radio in 2023.
Their latest album, Rendering Feelings (2024), marks a bold new chapter: lush, emotional, and unflinchingly honest. The record explores love, identity, technology, and the modern condition through a mix of pulsing, euphoric anthems and intimate ballads. Standout track “Talking” was featured prominently in Grey’s Anatomy, while the album’s breakout single “Dreaming” hit #1 on alternative radio, opened Game 1 of the World Series, and aired during the NFL Playoffs on FOX. By the end of 2025, The Darcys were named the 10th most-played artist on Canadian alternative radio.
In 2026, The Darcys will celebrate the success of Rendering Feelings with the Rendering Feelings (GOODTIME Edition), featuring two new tracks: “over thinking” and “GOODTIME.”
