Stacie Arden Smith

Stacie Arden Smith is a Tłı̨chǫ singer-songwriter and self-taught guitarist born and raised in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories. Deeply connected to the North, her music is inspired by the community, and personal experiences that have shaped her life.

Stacie has been singing since she was a child, though she never imagined that one day she would perform on stage. Music began as a personal outlet and creative expression, eventually leading her to teach herself guitar and begin writing her own songs. Over time, she developed a heartfelt style rooted in honest storytelling and raw, acoustic sound.

Her songwriting draws heavily from her lived experiences, exploring themes of growth, relationships, and identity. Through her music, Stacie aims to create genuine connection with listeners, sharing stories that are both personal and widely relatable.

In 2024, Stacie performed as part of the Northern Arts and Cultural Centre’s 40th Anniversary celebrations and took the stage at Open Sky Festival in Fort Simpson. She returned to perform at Open Sky again in 2025 and expanded her reach with a performance at the Fireweed Festival in Fort Smith that same year.

In 2025, Stacie was selected as a mentee in the ATTI mentorship program, where she worked with acclaimed Indigenous artist Celeigh Cardinal. The experience helped her further develop her songwriting, performance skills, and confidence as an emerging Northern artist.

Stacie continues to write, perform, and share music that reflects her journey, always hoping to connect with audiences through honest storytelling and heartfelt songs.
