Artists, Muralists, Animators & Aerialists
Folk On The Rocks 2026 didn’t only have incredible music acts in the sand…
But also live performances, animators, aerialists and muralists doing what they do best. Seeing each mural progress over the weekend, owl animation bounce to the music, and aerialist move through the site was an excellent addition to the weekend.
Let’s explore their work over the weekend:
Painted live throughout the weekend, WAMP and Makerspace YK have teamed up with incredible visual and digital artists to create 6 augmented reality murals that are permanently installed around Yellowknife both inside and outside at local businesses and historical locations. This mural can now be seen in Old Town, view the full details here.

Stationed on @snocarpenter’s wooden owl, Sebastien LeTourneau created projection mapping animations all night long, moving with the beat of the music.
This project was a part of the Augment YK project with our partner WAMP NWT.
