Volunteer Manager

Estimated Contract Length: May 8-July 28

Compensation: TBD

Description

The Volunteer Manager is responsible for the overall management of all 300+ volunteers that make Folk On The Rocks happen

Duties

  • Recruit and organize volunteers into appropriate teams
  • Creation of a work plan with recruitment tactics, goals for numbers of volunteers per team, and budget for volunteer needs
  • Use the volunteer data base and FOTR website to organize and communicate Festival Information to team coordinators and teams
  • Assist team coordinators with scheduling and other needs
  • Organize supplies for each volunteer team
  • Organize and update volunteer team manuals - write new ones as needed
  • Ensure all volunteer training is organized and complete prior to Festival
  • Organize and supervise Volunteer Headquarters onsite

Qualifications

This position requires a very patient and organized person with strong people skills. Strong ties to other community-focused groups and previous work in large-scale events will be considered assets. Applicants should have strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.

Artist Relations Manager

Estimated Contract Length: May 8-July 28

Description

This person will be the main point of contact for all performer needs from accommodations, to hospitality and technical riders, to transportation, and travel.

Duties

  • Securing performer flights and accommodations
  • Organize and plan performer riders for hospitality area
  • Arrange meals for all performers for the Festival weekend
  • Decorate and organize hospitality area
  • Organize hospitality volunteers and team leads
  • Organize Performer BBQ
  • Ensure all food prepared adheres to Food Safety Standards
  • Ensure hospitality stays safe and secure through out Festival
  • Ensure all performers experience VIP treatment
  • Ensure all performers receive their payments within two weeks of the Festival closing
  • Create Performer Welcome Package
  • Distribute and promote the FOTR post-Festival surveys to performers 

Qualifications

Applicants should have strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills. Experience in the food and hospitality industry is an asset.

Marketing Manager

Estimated Contract Length: May 2- July 28

Description

The Marketing Manager will manage public communications and marketing materials as per the Marketing Strategy and the FOTR brand.

Duties

  • Creation of a work plan
  • Management of website posts and news
  • Management of all social media accounts
  • Management of purchasing advertisements and promotions as per the marketing strategy
  • Assist with design and ordering of FOTR merchandise
  • Implement sponsorship visibility and promotions as per the sponsor contracts
  • Sourcing and management of the official event photographers
  • Coordination and ordering of all Festival signage
  • Manage media processing and tracking up to and during the Festival
  • Create media welcome packages
  • Work with Production Manager and Executive Producer to ensure site visuals, display and décor are up to standard
  • Assist with the coordination and organization of any FOTR events prior to the Festival
  • Assist with post festival thank you’s and any needed printed materials

Qualifications

Applicants should have strong creative writing, organizational, budgeting, and communication skills. Experience in marketing and public relations, and those with graphic design skills will be considered an asset.

Site Manager

Estimated Contract Length: May 8 - July 28

Description

The Site Manager will be responsible for the management and oversight of all operations on the FOTR Festival grounds leading up to the Festival and will lead the post-Festival site wrap up.

Duties

  • Carry out approved site improvements
  • Identify additional site improvements for the Executive Producer’s consideration
  • Create a work plan outlining specific projects, budgets and timelines
  • Work within a tight budget and timeline
  • Place FOTR billboard through out city in coordination with the Marketing Manager
  • Organize and coordinate the volunteers needed to assist with site maintenance and aesthetic improvement
  • Complete site improvements one week prior to Festival so site can be handed over to Production Manager
  • Take site back from the Production Manager and close down the site post Festival
  • Manage and address site safety needs

Qualifications

Candidates should have some background in construction or the trades with knowledge of construction/site safety, building permits, and carpentry. Applicants should have strong leadership, organizational, problem solving, and communication.

Merchandise Manager

Start Date: June 19- August 4

Description

  • Receipt and QA/QC of all FOTR Merchandise
  • Inputting all merchandise into POS and creating an inventory list
  • Organizing and tracking all performer merchandise
  • Coordinating Merchandise Volunteer Team
  • Managing merchandise booth onsite
  • Organizing and setting up FOTR online store post-Festival
  • Creating displays to help attract customers

Qualifications

Applicants should have strong organizational, math, and customer service skills with a flare for creativity. Experience in sales is preferable.

Production Manager

This role will focus on special attention to all temporary site needs and while working very closely with the Executive Producer to ensure the site is properly tended to and running smoothly. Understanding the overall logistics of the site and the Festival schedule are a must.

Duties

  • Work closely with Executive Producer to organize and schedule all deliveries and pick ups on site (pump outs, water, cleaners, etc.)
  • Organize volunteers to set up all temporary site needs (ticketing gates, signage, picnic tables, decorations, etc.)
  • Track all operational schedules during Festival, and ensure each area of the Festival is running smoothly and on time
  • Fully understand Festival insurance policy
  • Lead a team of maintenance and accessibility focused volunteers
  • Act as the point of contact for the Artisan and Food vendors onsite
  • Takeover the site from Site Coordinator and manage all site needs one week prior to the Festival until the site is cleaned up post-Festival

Qualifications
